Wine is fun – wine tasting for those who don’t like wine tastings!

Dagmar Bistro & Wine Bar’s new wine tasting is designed to be enjoyed in the best company—your own entourage. Wine is Fun -tasting is a sensory, tantalising educational journey into the world of wine tasting. It’s anything but rigid, and there’s no staring at the rule book.

We all have our own memories of smells and tastes, and no two tasters are the same – but each can learn to discover the famous “oakiness” and exotic fruit in wine, or whatever it is you want to learn to identify!

There are only three rules for this tasting

  • There are no right and wrong answers!
  • It’s not a matter of arguing about taste but worth discussing!
  • Have fun!

We’ll get you started; then you can enjoy the wines at your own pace

Our staff will get you started and tell you where to start tasting wine. After that, you’ll be free to explore the wines at your leisure – blind, meaning you’ll only know the colour of the wines poured into your glasses.

So, can you find the smell of your grandfather’s cigarette jacket or the taste of your grandmother’s backyard currant bushes? Or something else entirely.

But what did the sommelier think of the wines?

After the tasting, you will have access to the professional’s notes on the wines you have tasted, so you can compare your own smell and taste observations with the professional’s opinions. And maybe you’ll want to taste the wines again – do they have different aromas or palates now?

White wine and red wine tasting

Our selection includes a tour of white and red wines. We also offer other seasonal tastings for those who want to challenge themselves.

Three wines to introduce you to tasting

Each tasting includes three wines, each poured into a 6 cl glass. The price starts from €18 per three-wine tasting. You don’t need to book -you can- Wine is Fun -tasting in advance, but they are available from Tuesday to Saturday from 15.00 onwards for 1-8 people.
